Summit Financial Group is looking for a motivated individual for the Summer of 2023 in our San Ramon, CA office as a paid intern. We are an established financial planning and wealth management firm that takes pride in building client relationships that last a lifetime. The Opportunity

Our Intern Program seeks to provide students who are currently enrolled at a university the opportunity to join our team for the summer of 2023. Over the course of 6-7 weeks in this position, you will receive an overview of the Financial Services field. Through a combination of 1:1 training, hands-on work/projects, and broader industry training, our goal is to paint a clear picture of what it looks like to enrich lives through the financial advisory field.

The Intern Experience

Rotations in the following departments/areas of focus:
• Operations, trading, compliance, financial planning, and marketing
• Special projects within these focus areas

Financial Advisor shadowing to gain insight into various practices and specialties:
• Lifecycle of a financial planning client
• Marketing program support

Weekly sessions with our Broker/Dealer covering core topics like:
• Annuities, life insurance, and investment products
• Schooling and training options for financial services
• Insight into the Financial Services field through a variety of industry experts
• Remote networking opportunity with other interns throughout the country

Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Student at a 4-year university or graduate program
• Able to work 25-35 hours per week (we can work with your calendar for start and end times as well as accommodate vacations)
• Background screen/credit check required
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Coachable – open to feedback and learning
• Interest in the financial services industry
